Excited to get started!
I’m always ready to try new things, especially if it means writing more words that help more people.
That’s why I joined Revue now that Twitter has acquired it.
There’s a warm place in my heart for the Writing Community found on Twitter, and I think that this newsletter is an incredible way to build upon that connection!
Writing and Publishing Advice
With this newsletter, I’m going to try something new. I’ve always been delighted with helping writers reach their goals and build online homes. That’s what I do on my primary website on the internet - The Geek Writer.
With this newsletter, I will write short, digestible writing and publishing advice that I can spread across the week and send emails four days a week.
Premium Content
Alongside the four byte-size emails I’ll be sending each week, I’m planning to send one premium-only email on Fridays. If you want to support me and get extra advice, this email will be for you.
Regardless of newsletter cost, I strive to send top-notch emails and respond to all replies, feedback, and suggestions. Please feel free to send your thoughts or requests my way!
We Begin This journey today!
If you thought this email would be just an introduction without an actual piece of advice - you’re wrong!
And here’s my advice for you today, on this celebration of a new beginning - start an email list.
I already have email subscribers for my blog, where I teach how to become a better content creator. I always strived for better communication with my followers. If you are creating something and people react to your work - do it for them. Open an email list and send them updates about your life.
Your primary resistance would be that you wouldn’t want to join another newsletter, so why should they? I get that. But if today George R. R. Martin would open a new newsletter where he shares information about Westeros that we never read before, or better yet - to announce the next book - I would jump on it in a heartbeat!
That’s what people feel about your work, regardless of you believing it or not. Please do it for them. Open an email list as an act of Customer Service and follow through with consistent updates.
It will open doors that you wouldn’t believe possible.
Thank you for reading!
I hope this email has inspired you to open an email list or newsletter. If you do, let me know, and I’ll be your first subscriber! I’m always excited about getting to know and support new writers.
I’m sending lots of love your way!
Oren Cohen
P.S. You can always reply to this email or talk to me on Twitter.
Writing Community Highlights
In this short section, I will highlight three tweets from #WritingCommunity on Twitter! If you write something inspiring, you might be featured here in the next issue! It doesn’t hurt to tag me, so I see it! :)
